PROJECT:
Cryo effect
For its three Chicago locations (the Loop, Lincoln Park and River North), CryoEffect commissioned JackLee for a trio of custom design builds for the new-to-Chicago concept. Each cryotherapy cold spa needed to incorporate multiple design-savvy spa rooms for cryotherapy, cryo-sculpting, cryo-facials and normatec compression. Not surprisingly, beaucoup creative design solutions were required for the equipment and flame-retardant tubing, not to mention reinforced floors to support the incredibly heavy machinery. And while design for each location was similar, each project brought its own set of challenges. For the Lake Street and LaSalle locations, both were brand new buildings so the basic framework was there, thus JackLee focused on the finishes and full-blown millwork. But the Halstead location was a buildout of an older building which meant the entire floor needed to be torn up and structural issues needed to be addressed in order to construct a high-end, sleek space. Chic-yet-budget-friendly design elements for all included reception desks with back-lit stone and custom countertops, cryo rooms, oxygen bars, infrared saunas and hyper-modern bathrooms appointed with custom sinks and hand-drying faucets. From demo to final polish, JackLee completed all three projects in 12 weeks time.
