For Gordon Salon—a cutting-edge hair and beauty salon that’s been recognized by Salon Today magazine as one of the “Top 200 Salons in the United States” for 13 years, and earned Chicago magazine’s “Readers' Choice Award for Best Salon” in both 2016 and 2017—JackLee was tasked with a full design build for the salon’s new home in Lakeshore East. After losing its former location in Wrigleyville to the ongoing Wrigley Field 1060 Project expansion, Gordon Salon wanted a refreshed look for its new digs while remaining true to its avant garde aesthetic—which meant disassembling and moving myriad design elements, furniture and fixtures across town, including a sizeable statement chandelier. JackLee rented lifts and trucks to transport past pieces to the new location unharmed and incorporated all into the design plan. For the revamp, upgrades included custom pieces. From contract to cleanup, the Gordon Salon project took 14 weeks.
